Woman arrested for fatal hit and run that killed elderly male bicyclist

A Fountain Valley woman has been arrested for driving drunk and fatally striking an elderly bicyclist.

The victim, identified as 71-year-old Lim Bui of Santa Ana, was near the intersection of Euclid Street and Hail Avenue at the time of the incident, early on the morning of January 15th.  Police were called to the site at about 5:39 AM, finding the traumatically injured man lying in the roadway.  Paramedics arrived and pronounced him deceased at the scene.  Bui’s family was notified, but the driver responsible for the collision was nowhere to be found.

Fountain Valley Police Department Traffic Investigators were able to identify the suspect vehicle, which they located in Westminster.  The suspect, 32-year-old Amanda Martin, was still inside the vehicle and was subsequently arrested.  Martin has been charged with  felony DUI, felony hit and run, and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
