LIVERMORE — Four suspects have been arrested and two stolen vehicles filled with stolen retail merchandise were recovered. All four individuals from Fresno are allegedly members of an organized retail theft gang.

A stolen Mercedes-Benz associated with two robberies was detected in Livermore on January 16. One was a smash-and-grab robbery at a Lululemon store in Los Gatos. The other was a strong-arm robbery at a Sacks Fifth Avenue store in Milpitas.

A Livermore officer located the Mercedes, parked at San Francisco Premium Outlets mall in Livermore. It was unoccupied and the officer waited in the parking lot, while another officer looked around inside the mall.

Not long afterward, 24-year-old Serena Garcia approached the stolen car, and she was arrested. She was booked for receiving stolen property—the Mercedes.

Meanwhile inside the mall, a 16-year-old juvenile male started running when he noticed an officer walking towards him. The lad was soon detained and arrested, and he was carrying a loaded .45 caliber handgun.

In his possession, this juvenile had the keys to a BMW car reported stolen. Like the Mercedes, the BMW was filled with stolen retail merchandise. In addition, a 9 mm gun was recovered from underneath the driver’s seat.

Two other suspects were located at a nearby hotel. Jesus Lopez, 32, and Christopher J. Spears, 28, were also arrested. Inside Spears’ wallet, officers found stolen credit cards and methamphetamine.

Lopez was booked for possession of a stolen car, possession of stolen property, and parole violation. His cohort Spears was booked for identity theft, possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property, and resisting arrest.

The Pleasanton Police Department assisted Livermore PD leading to the arrests of these four individuals.
