Fresno PD: Juvenile arrested for allegedly shooting at Airbnb being used to host birthday party

Fresno police have announced the arrest of a juvenile male for allegedly firing several shots at an Airbnb which had been rented to host a birthday party.

Officers were dispatched to the scene of a reported shooting North Vagedes Avenue on the night of November 21, 2021. A 15-year-old girl had sustained a single gunshot wound when several shots were fired at the house from a white Mercedes that had been seen circling the block, according to police.

The girl was quickly taken to hospital to undergo emergency surgery. Her current condition is unknown.

Investigators say several people had been drinking at the party, and learned that the the renter had begun to turn away attendees who hadn’t been invited, police said.

Investigators ultimately identified and arrested a juvenile male as the primary suspect in the shooting. A parent who’d been at the party was also arrested after it was discovered that she’d allegedly allowed juveniles at the party access to alcohol, police said.
