Registered sex offender from Rancho Cucamonga arrested for possession of child pornography

A 74-year-old registered sex offender was arrested at his home in Rancho Cucamonga last Thursday for the possession of child pornography.

Donald Alan Wing’s computer contained at least 5,000 images and 100 videos of child pornography, according to the news release by San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials.  Wing was arrested December 9th and is being held at West Valley Detention Center on $150,000 bail.  He is scheduled to appear in at Rancho Cucamonga Superior Court today, December 14th.

Officials first suspected Wing of downloading pornographic images depicting children in July 2021, when deputies responded to his home about a domestic dispute.  At that time, his computer was seized for investigation, and the illicit media was found, prompting deputies to obtain an arrest warrant for Wing.

On the day of his arrest, deputies found additional electronic devices that Wing had acquired since the prior incident, which will also be examined.

“During the investigation, it was found that Wing is a registered sex offender,” according to the release.  “If anyone has information pertinent to this investigation, they are urged to contact the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department, Detective Bureau. If you choose to remain anonymous, call We-Tip at 1-800-78-CRIME (27463) or go to wetip.com.”
