“Joseph Mejia is a student at Del Rey Elementary. He hasn’t had the most pleasant experiences with law enforcement as officers and deputies tend to show up when someone in his family is getting into trouble.
Regardless, Joseph continues to have deep appreciation and respect for law enforcement. Once we heard how meaningful a positive law enforcement contact would mean to Joseph, we had to come up with something special for his 7th birthday.
Deputies teamed up with our Sheriff’s Foundation for Public Safety to visit him at school. They gave him a new bicycle and some toys. Deputies also passed out books to some of his classmates.
We too love positive contacts. Thanks for making our day Joseph and the rest of Del Rey Elementary.”
