A Fresno man has been arrested for the alleged murder of both his sister and his nephew, according to police.

Fanchon Moore

On the afternoon of Friday, October 1, officers responded to the 4900 block of East Weathermaker Avenue to investigate a reported shooting involving two victims. At the scene, officers and EMS personnel discovered 33-year-old Fanchon Moore and her son, 17-year-old Antonio Rodriguez, had both been shot.

Moore was pronounced dead at the scene, and Rodriguez died shortly after his arrival at a local hospital, police said.

Detectives learned that, prior to the shooting, Moore and Rodriguez had been involved a dispute with 37-year-old Eric Heard, who they discovered was Moore’s sister and Rodriguez’s uncle. At some point, Heard allegedly shot both victims and then he fled the scene.

Police found and arrested him later that night, however, and booked him at the Fresno County Jail on two counts of murder.
