Redding woman accused of DUI, striking multiple vehicles

A Redding woman has been arrested on suspicion of DUI after allegedly colliding with multiple vehicles, according to police.

On the night of Tuesday, September 14, officers were dispatched to the area of Highway 273 south of Girvan Road, where someone had reportedly collided with multiple parked vehicles. Police say the driver of the suspect vehicle, identified as 37-year-old Laura Eiffert, had been driving heavily intoxicated after leaving Win River Casino.

At some point, Eiffort allegedly veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a Ford F-250. The driver and sole occupant of the Ford was not injured.

Police say the collision occurred in a construction area, resulting in significant damage to city property and requiring Highway 273 to be shut down for about an hour.

Eiffert was ultimately arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and multiple hit-and-run collisions.
