CHICO RESIDENT ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF A STOLEN FIREARM

“Chico, CA- On Friday, July 30, 2021, at approximately 5:45 p.m., BCSO Deputy Robertson was on patrol on East 20th Street in Chico, when he observed an individual whom he recognized as Michael Hubburt, age 32 of Chico.

Deputy Robertson contacted Hubburt and conducted a search of his person and vehicle, pursuant to the terms and conditions of his probation.

During the search of Hubburt’s person and vehicle, Deputy Robertson located the following items: methamphetamine, a stun gun, a handgun, burglary tools, and drug paraphernalia.

A photograph of the aforementioned evidence items is attached to this press release. During the subsequent investigation, Deputy Robertson determined the handgun possessed by Hubburt was stolen during a vehicle burglary that occurred in the Chico area.

Hubburt was arrested for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, ammunition, and a stun gun. Hubburt was also arrested for possession of stolen property, committing a felony while released on bail/own recognizance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property, violation of probation, and possession of burglary tools.”
