On June 28, 2021, at 9:55 p.m., the female victim, 51, was walking in the area of Aurora Street and Park Street when she was approached by the suspect in a vehicle.
The suspect pointed a gun at the victim and told her to get in his vehicle.
When she refused the suspect shot the victim. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.
Officers located the suspect vehicle in the area. A loaded handgun was located inside the suspect’s vehicle and the suspect was subsequently arrested for the shooting.
Arrested was Reginald Wright, 48, for assault with a deadly weapon, weapon charges, and narcotic charges.
