On 6/6/2021 at 5:29 am, officers responded to a call of a robbery in the area of the 300 block of E. Alisal St. The victim (65), reported he was robbed by a subject wielding a metal pipe.
The suspect, later identified as, Diego Castillo (21) walked up to the victim’s vehicle and tapped the windshield. When the victim rolled down the window, Castillo demanded the victim’s money.
The victim gave Castillo the money he had, Castillo took the money and fled westbound on Rianda St. towards the tracks.
During an area check, officers saw a subject matching the description seated in a white Chevy pickup parked in the 200 block of Prader St. He was ordered out of the vehicle and detained, Castillo was positively identified as the robbery suspect.
Officers recovered the cash taken during the robbery from the victim. Castillo was arrested and later booked into county jail on robbery charges.
