“This afternoon, Detectives from the Special Investigations Unit observed what they believed to be a bicycle theft in progress.
Police units responded to the area to assist with the apprehension of the suspect.
The suspect, later identified as David Lopez, discarded a backpack, and then fled from officers on foot.
Officers were able to catch the suspect and place him under arrest without further incident.
Lopez was found to be in possession of ammunition, and Detectives located a sawed-off shotgun in his backpack.
Lopez was booked into the Yolo County Jail for resisting arrest, grand theft, possession of heroin, and a convicted felon in possession of ammunition and a firearm.”
