On 04/07/2021 at about 8:30 pm, Palm Springs PD officers pulled over a vehicle driven by Trevon Farmer (05/22/1996, male resident of Cathedral City) in the 1400 Block of S. Palm Canyon. During the traffic stop, it was determined Farmer had a warrant for his arrest and was known to carry firearms.

As officers approached the vehicle, Farmer sped away initiating a pursuit. A short time later, officers canceled the pursuit after losing the vehicle. Assisting officers began searching the area and later located the vehicle unoccupied in the 500 Block of S. Palm Canyon. With the assistance of bystanders, it was determined Farmer ran from the vehicle and was hiding in a dumpster.

Officers surrounded the dumpster and Farmer eventually gave up. Farmer was arrested for the outstanding warrant as well as CVC 2800.1 (Failure to Yield) and PC 148(a)(1) (Resisting Arrest). Farmer was transported to Indio Jail for booking.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
