Los Angeles Man on Parole for Burglary Arrested in Rancho Cucamonga

A man on parole for burglary was arrested in Rancho Cucamonga after allegedly trying to steal money from a restaurant tip jar and entering an apartment uninvited.

The incident took place on Monday, March 15, 2021.  The suspect, 35-year-old Allen Alvarado of Los Angeles, was escorted from a restaurant near the 9200 Block of Milliken Avenue by the owner after Alvarado was caught attempting to take money from the tip jar.  “When the witness saw Alvarado jump a fence into the back patio of an adjacent apartment, he called police,” according to the release.  Rancho Cucamonga police responded around 1:40 PM.

Alvarado was apparently able to get inside, as he was the subject of a second call to police that was “regarding a strange man walking around inside an apartment.”  The residents did not know him and asked him to go.  He complied, but not quietly.  He started pounding on the door to another apartment and tried to get inside.

Police “saw Alvarado jump off the back of a golf cart driven by two employees of the apartment complex,” when they arrived at the apartment complex.  The suspect was arrested after police checked his records, which showed that he was on parole for burglary.  Alvarado was booked without bail at the West Valley Detention Center.

The Rancho Cucamonga Police Department is asking anyone with additional information on this case to contact the Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff’s Station.  Anyone can leave an anonymous tip by contacting We-tip at 1-800-78-CRIME or www.wetip.com.
