San Francisco man arrested in connection to unprovoked attack on 83-year-old man

A San Francisco man was arrested on suspicion of elder abuse after allegedly shoving an 83-year-old man to the ground for seemingly no reason, police say.

On Sunday, February 14th, officers responded to a local hospital, where the victim told them he’d been walking along the 200 block of Turk Street earlier that morning when an unknown subject approached him and shoved him to the ground unprovoked.

Investigators quickly issued a bulletin to identify and locate the suspect. Within 12 hours, just after 8 PM, Tenderloin Station officers had identified the suspect as 31-year-old Haskell Allen.

Allen, who is already on probation and under court order to stay away from Turk and Hyde Streets, was arrested and booked on suspicion of multiple charges including aggravated assault with force, elder abuse with great bodily injury, and committing a felony while on pre-trial release.
