A Placer County man has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in multiple thefts as well as a hit-and-run, according to the Auburn Police Department.

On January 23, officers responded to a reported hit-and-run on the 200 block of Maple Street, obtaining a description of the driver but unable to locate either him nor the vehicle.

That night, officers ended up locating the vehicle and were able to tie it to 43-year-old Logan Minyard, who was still not yet a suspect in the hit-and-run. Nonetheless, officers discovered items in the vehicle that turned out to be property stolen during a recent string of thefts in the Shirland Tract community.

Two days later, on January 25, Placer County Sheriff’s deputies located and detained Minyard. Following an interview, he was ultimately arrested and booked on suspicion of possession of stolen property and possession of narcotics, as well as parole violation.

He remains in custody at the Placer County Jail on $82,500 bond.
