Trio of Thieves Arrested in West Roseville

A trio of thieves was arrested on May 24th for theft in West Roseville. The three men are suspected of driving through West Roseville neighborhoods and scoping out unlocked cars and breaking into others to steal property.

According to the Roseville Police Department, Sacramento Sheriff deputies arrested one suspect in Antelope for possession of stolen property that was linked to a vehicle break-in in Roseville. Roseville PD was notified and the investigation continued. Sac Sheriff’s North deputies worked together with Roseville’s Vice and Narcotics Enforcement Team to locate two additional suspects in connection with the car break-ins.

36-year-old Kevin Patrick McFarland of Auburn was arrested on conspiracy and suspicion of grand theft. He also had a Placer County warrant for possession of burglar’s tools and narcotics charges. The second suspect was identified as 23-year-old Stanislav M. Taran of Sacramento. Taran was also arrested on charges including conspiracy and suspicion of grand theft. He also had a Sacramento County warrant for burglary.

The third man arrested was 23-year-old Maksim Mishchenko of Antelope. Mishchenko was charged with suspicion of grand theft and conspiracy. All three suspects were transported and booked into Placer County Jail

Although the investigation is ongoing, the three men are linked to at least six thefts. But they may be connected to more from thefts reported from the Blue Oaks, Fiddyment Farms and Quail Glen neighborhoods.

Roseville Police wants to remind residents not to make it easy for thieves. Always lock your doors and never leave property in your car.
