Man nabbed for various vehicle burglaries in Dixon

“On the morning of January 10, 2021, Dixon Police received several reports of vehicle burglaries on Fountain Way and Hansen Court.

Work vehicles were targeted and property totaling over $10,000 was stolen from multiple vehicles. Dixon Police Officers, CSO’s, and Detectives canvased the area to locate surveillance video from helpful neighbors and were able to locate video of the suspect and his vehicle.

Dixon Police Detectives reviewed information and video from Automated License Plate Readers and identified the suspect vehicle which was registered out of Woodland.

The registered owner of the vehicle was found to be on searchable probation out of Yolo County. Dixon Police Detectives coordinated with Yolo County Probation and conducted a probation check of the suspect’s residence where several stolen items were recovered.

Rafael Alcantar-Cardenas (29) of Woodland was placed under arrest and booked into jail for the following charges:

459 PC – Burglary (2 counts)
487 PC – Grand Theft
488 PC – Petty Theft
1203.2(a) PC – Violation of Probation”
