Originally published as a Santa Rosa Police Department Nixle post – 

“On 1/17/21, at 7:29 PM, several people in the area of Martin Luther King Park, located at 1671 Hendley Street, reported hearing gun shots coming from the park area.  Officers contacted 27 year old Santa Rosa resident Francisco Ramirez as he was exiting the north side of the park.

Francisco did not initially stop for the officers and began running north along Hendley Street and then turned into the driveway of a residence.  Officers gave chase and Francisco exited the driveway and was detained without further incident.

Officer’s checked the area where Francisco had been and located a handgun and a magazine that contained additional live ammunition.

As the investigation continued, Officers learned Francisco had fired the gun while at the park. Then another subject, 30 year old Santa Rosa resident Miguel Ramirez, collected the evidence of the shooting (shell casings) and discarded them in a trash can.

Both Francisco and Miguel were arrested and booked at the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention facility.

Francisco Ramirez was arrested for:

Miguel Ramirez was arrested for:
