“Oakdale CA – At approximately 10:00 AM on Wednesday, detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Persons (CAP) unit arrested Nikkole Scruggs (30) at her Oakdale home and booked her as an accessory in the September murder of Katrina Allen (39, Oakdale).

On November 4, 2020, detectives arrested Stephen Frederick (28, Oakdale) and charged him with the shooting death of Allen. During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Scruggs had knowingly concealed evidence and based on her actions, allowed Frederick to evade arrest by providing transport on multiple occasions and allowing him to stay at her home.

Scruggs, who is a teacher at Edison High School in Stockton, was booked at the Public Safety Center and charged with 32 PC. Due to the fact that 32 PC (even in a homicide case) is a zero-bail charge, detectives were able to get a bail enhancement for $25,000.

Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to call Detective Silva at (209) 525-7091.”
