“As you may recall, in March 2020, Folsom PD detectives along with our partners at the Sacramento Valley Hi-Tech Crimes Task Force, executed two search warrants related to Matthew Goyder and a child exploitation investigation. Goyder was arrested and held in custody at the Sacramento County Jail since his arrest.

Since then, Folsom PD Det. Rowberry continued his investigation which has led to the identification of over 40 child victims in approximately 20 states as well as outside of the country.

As a result of this investigation, Goyder has been Federally indicted for five alleged crimes at this time.

With regards to the case, Det. Rowberry stated, “This investigation has truly been a group effort. I cannot thank enough the dozens of Local, State, and Federal jurisdictions as well as the private sector who assisted.”

Det. Rowberry continued, “This is another example and reminder for parents to monitor their children’s online and social media activity.”

Goyder remains in custody at the Sacramento County Jail as this case moves forward.”
