CBS news reports an elk grove man was arrested for a catalytic converter theft –

“On October 2, 2019, a vehicle theft occurred on Bull Mountain Circle. The vehicle was driven from the victim’s residence to a nearby location where the suspects removed the catalytic converter from the vehicle and then left the victim’s vehicle there.

Through the investigation, detectives identified one of the suspects as 38-year-old Richard Vang of Sacramento.

On January 3, 2020, detectives arrested Vang at his residence. A probation search of his residence led to the discovery of burglary tools. Vang was transported to the Main Jail where he was booked on charges of Motor Vehicle Theft (VC 10851), Removing Vehicle Parts (VC 10852), Possession of Burglary Tools (PC 466), Conspiracy (PC 182), Violation of Probation (PC 182) and drug-related charges as well.”
