Two people have been arrested after allegedly stealing sneakers at gunpoint and later trying to sell them, according to Salinas Police.

The victim had reportedly listed three pairs of Nike Air Jordans for sale on the Offer Up app, to which a prospective buyer responded, requesting to meet on the night of November 20 in north Salinas.

The victim arrived to find four individuals who allegedly brandished a semi-automatic handgun, took the shoes, and fled.

Two days later, the victim saw the same shoes listed for sale on Instagram, using the same photos he’d posted when selling them on Offer Up. The victim then arranged to meet the sellers at a local mall to buy the shoes, then contacted police.

Officers arrived at the meeting location and quickly spotted the vehicle the suspects said they’d be driving. They spoke with two individuals — 18-year-old Dominic Wilson and a 17-year-old juvenile, both of Stockton — whom they say had the stolen sneakers in their vehicle, as well as the same 9mm Taurus semi-automatic handgun used to commit the robbery.

Both suspects were arrested and booked on suspicion of armed robbery, possession of stolen property, and conspiracy and possession of a concealed firearm.
