San Luis Obispo – On the afternoon of August 12, the Motel 6 on Atascadero Road was the scene of a man in a Mercedes with a rifle in view.

Officers arrived and spotted the vehicle in which Steven Josef Bani and Danielle Raquel Quijada sat.

Banfi was on probation, therefore officers were allowed to search his vehicle. The ensuing search located brass knuckles, a replica rifle, multiple credit cards with other names on them, and other stolen property and cash totaling $2,950.

The pair were arrested and booked for “multiple felony identity theft and felony credit card offenses.”

However, they both were released within 24 hours because of the Emergency Bail Schedule, with zero dollars bail.
