ARREST MADE IN 2011 HOMICIDE

The Woodland Police Department made an arrest in a homicide that occurred over none years ago –

“On 3/6/11 at approx. 0200 hours, Officers were dispatched to a shots fired call at 534 Bush St. (formerly La Finca de Rivera Restaurant).

When officers arrived they located the victim, Gabriel Villareal Ibarra, lying motionless in the street bleeding from a gunshot wound. Paramedics and Fire attempted to resuscitate Ibarra, but were unsuccessful in their attempts, and he succumbed to his injuries.

During the subsequent investigation it was learned that there had been a physical fight between various parties outside of the bar. During the fight the suspect, Jose Luis Gomez Arreola DOB 9/26/84, allegedly produced a firearm and shot the victim and another male. Arreola then allegedly fired off several more rounds towards the crowd gathering before fleeing the scene.

In 2015, After an exhaustive investigation, Detectives were able to secure a warrant for Arreola’s arrest for the murder of Ibarra. On 7/22/20 The Woodland Police Dept was notified that Arreola had been contacted and arrested by Law Enforcement in Idaho for the warrant.”
