Davis Senior High School Evacuated Following Report of Suspicious Device; Scene Cleared by Bomb Squad
DAVIS, CA — Davis Senior High School was briefly evacuated on the afternoon of April 21, 2026, following a report of a possible explosive device on campus.
The incident began at approximately 1:05 p.m., prompting a rapid response from local law enforcement. As a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of the campus community, school officials and first responders coordinated an immediate evacuation of all students and staff.
The Davis Explosive Ordnance Detail (EOD) was deployed to the scene to conduct a formal evaluation of the suspicious item. Following a thorough technical assessment, the EOD determined that the object was not an explosive device. Once the scene was declared safe and cleared by authorities, students and staff were permitted to return to the buildings.
The Davis Police Department confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the school or the surrounding area. While the immediate danger has been ruled out, an investigation into the origin and nature of the device remains active.
