Man arrested in Salyer on suspicion of arson

“On Thursday, July 23, 2020 at approximately 6:00 am, the Trinity County Sheriff’s Dispatch Center received a report of a male subject making threats and setting property on fire.

Deputies and California Highway Patrol Officers were dispatched to a residence on Stanley Z road, off of Fountain Ranch Road in Salyer, CA, to find the suspect had fled the area prior to their arrival.

K9 Johnny was deployed and later located the suspect hiding in an outbuilding on the victim’s property. The suspect, identified as David Schieberl, refused to comply with Deputies orders, and was apprehended by K9 Johnny.

David Schieberl was treated on scene, then transported to a local area Hospital for medical clearance prior to being booked in Trinity County Jail.”
