The CHP in Stockton arrested a man who, driving DUI, overturned the truck he was driving –

“This morning, at approximately 5:48 am, a pickup truck left the roadway and overturned near southbound SR-99 and Liberty Rd. CHP units arrived on scene and located a solo male occupant.

Shortly after beginning to speak with the driver, Officer Butler, detected the odor of alcohol coming from the driver. Officer Butler conducted a full DUI investigation and determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol and placed him under arrest for a violation of DUI.

The driver stated he was on his way home from work, in Elk Grove, and was headed to Lodi.

Apparently this driver decided to consume some alcohol at the end of his shift and then try to make it home. It’s SOO not worth it! DUI related traffic collisions oftentimes have a much worse outcome.

Fortunately, the driver involved in this collision was not injured, nor were any other persons affected or injured. There are plenty of alternatives available to get you home safe. Use your brain and make a call or swipe your smart phone and keep you and everyone around you safe.

RCAID- (Regional Campaign Against Impaired Drivers)- this grant provides funding to combat impaired driving in San Joaquin County. This allows CHP-Stockton to put officers on the road to specifically target impaired drivers.

*Good job Officer Butler”
