“This morning, at 4:44 am, officers responded to a residence in the 1300 block of Candlewood Way to conduct a welfare check of a child. The 7-year-old female victim was located and unresponsive.
Medics responded and pronounced the child deceased at the scene. Detectives were called in and took over the investigation. Arrested was the child’s father, Billey Williams, 30, for homicide and assault on a child resulting in death.
This remains an active investigation.
