Three stabbed in mysterious violent incident in Fort Bragg; 1 dead

The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a bizarre incident in which three people were reportedly stabbed and one of whom died as a result.

Deputies responded to the 32000 block of North Harbor Drive in Fort Bragg just before midnight on Sunday, May 17, where a caller had reported that several people had attacked a resident with a knife.

Nobody — suspects, victims, or otherwise — was found at the scene, but it was nonetheless clear that some type of assault had taken place, according to authorities.

Meanwhile, local police were dispatched to Coast District Hospital, where two people had just been admitted with apparent stab wounds. A third person, a 32-year-old male, was also admitted with similar injuries but ultimately passed away.

The first two victims, two men in their early 20’s, have since been stabilized and are expected to recover.

Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office have assumed the investigation and say that no suspects have been identified, nor motive determined at this time.

The investigation remains open and ongoing.
