After a month-long investigation into the burglaries of two vehicles and a theft, detectives of the Porterville Police Department were granted a search warrant.

The suspects were Gilberto Villarreal and Monica Coronado. Video surveillance showed Villarreal and his black top, white Toyota Camry in each of the thefts.

Video footage during the Kohl’s Department Store theft identified Coronado as an accomplice.

The morning of April 9, 2020, detectives served a search warrant at a home on the 1100 block of North Maple Avenue in Lindsay.

Villarreal was there, along with Coronado. Villarreal was in possession of a controlled substance.

Coronado initially identified herself as her sister, trying to avoid certain arrest for an unrelated, active arrest warrant. Both were arrested and booked into the custody of the Tulare County Sheriff.

The charges they could face are burglary, possession of narcotics, probation violations.
