Two Men Arrested While Under the Influence, One in Possession of a Loaded Firearm

The night of January 26, 33-year old Brandon Bowen and 28-year old Valentin Rivera were contacted by
officers of the Porterville Police Department while on the 900 block of West Westfield Avenue.

Both men were determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Additionally, Bowen was in
possession of a loaded firearm.

While being detained, Rivera physically assaulted the officers, adding to his potential charges. Bowen was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance while in possession of a loaded firearm.

Rivera faces being charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, and physically resisting officers. Both men were booked into the Tulare County Jail.
