Man caught with allegedly stolen vehicle, drugs found inside

A Siskiyou County man has been arrested after allegedly being caught with drugs while driving a stolen car.

On the morning of Sunday, March 8, a deputy took a report of a vehicle stolen on the 200th block of North 14th Street in Montague.

Some time later, the vehicle was seen traveling southbound on I-5 near the area of South Weed.

The sergeant who’d spotted the vehicle conducted a stop and contacted the driver, 29-year-old Thomas Edward Whitmore of Etna, who turned out to have a felony warrant out for his arrest.

The sergeant searched the vehicle and also found about ten grams of methamphetamine.

Whitmore was arrested and booked on suspicion of auto theft, illegal drug possession, and his warrant.
