San Luis Obispo man arrested in attempted kidnapping of young girl

A San Luis Obispo man has been arrested in the attempted kidnapping of an 8-year-old girl in the Meadow Park area last weekend.

Police were alerted to the incident around 3:45 PM on Sunday, March 8.

A man later identified as 28-year-old David Castellon had allegedly tried to grab the girl by the arm while she was walking home. She managed to pull away and make it back home, at which point her parents called police.

Going off a detailed description of Castellon, officers found him still in the area and arrested him after a brief on-foot pursuit. He has since been booked at the county jail on $50,000 bond.
