High School Wrestling Coach Charged with Illegal Sex Acts with Juvenile Student

A walk-on wrestling coach at a local high school has been arrested for unlawful sexual acts with a minor.

The week before February 28, 2020, the Huntington Beach Police Department began investigating claims about an inappropriate sexual relationship involving the coach, identified as 30-year-old Kevin Rayford of Seal Beach, and one of the students at Marina High School. He was arrested on February 28th and charged with unlawful sexual acts with a minor.

According to the written statement, “Marina High School staff and school district officials acted swiftly in notifying us of the allegations against Rayford and are fully cooperating with the investigation.” Police said the investigation was ongoing as of February 28th and have not yet released additional details.
