Out-of-Custody Suspect Rearrested For Harassing Witness

On January 18, 2020, 35-year old Oscar Remy Garcia was arrested in connection with a commercial burglary.

During a press release by Coalinga Police Department, it was reported Garcia was cooperating and more arrest were anticipated.

Garcia was released sometime after his arrest during which he used his freedom to threatened witnesses out of testifying.

Garcia stopped by the burglarized business on East Polk Avenue in Coalinga to harass a witness who was working. While there, he blocked an employee from calling for help and engaged in a brief struggle.

When he left, he took an employee’s wallet with him. The witness reported Garcia would make threatening phone calls, promising to shoot out the windows of the witness’s home with a BB gun. Garcia fulfilled this threat.

Fortunately, no one was physically injured. Officers of various shifts searched for Garcia, following leads on his whereabouts.

He was apprehended on February 6, 2020 during an early morning traffic stop. He surrendered without resistance.

Garcia was booked into the Fresno County Jail where he remains at the time of this writing. He faces a felony charge of stalking and bail is set at $171,500.
