FONTANA – A long-time search for the September 16th suspect who attempted a sexual assault while on the Pacific Electric Trail ended at a Fontana elementary school campus on October 8th. Teamwork made thorough and swift work of a potentially dangerous situation.

A suspicious individual was reported at Oleander Elementary School. “School officials notified the Fontana Unified School District Police of a suspicious male on the campus,” said City of Fontana Police Department. “FUSD officers quickly arrived, contacted and detained the suspect. At no time did he have contact with the students.”

FUSD Police notified Fontana PD Detectives that they’d detained Alberto Suarez (22) of Fontana – who had similarities to the person wanted for the Pacific Electric Trail assault.

The victim and witnesses stepped up to assist FPD Detectives, and positively ID’d Suarez as the suspect.

Fontana PD’s kudos included a hearty “Thank You to the Oleander Elementary staff and quick actions of the Fontana Unified School District Police who helped us identify and arrest Suarez. @fontanapd #fontanapd #vision4safety #teamwork #seesomethingsaysomething #fusdkeepingkidssafe @ Fontana, California”
