Investigation Into Suspected Gang-Related Shooting in Selma Nets Two Arrests

KINGS COUNTY — Deputies have arrested two suspects in connection to a suspected gang-related shooting in Selma.

Deputies arrived in the area of 6th Avenue and Burris Park Road at around 9:30 AM Wednesday, September 25, but the victim had already been transported to a local hospital and was about to be transferred to CRMC.

Investigators from the Kings County Sheriff’s Office and Kings County Major Crimes Task Force began gathering evidence and speaking with witnesses, through which they were able to identify Sergio Cisneros Barrita (19) and Jose Luis Barrita (21) as the primary suspects.

Though the two had fled the area, they were quickly found hiding out at a residence in Fresno.

Both subjects were taken into custody and booked on suspicion of attempted murder.
