SONORA — A local man was recently arrested on suspicion of DUI and drug possession after someone reported a person passed out in their vehicle and parked on the sidewalk.

When officers responded to the location, a business at the Crossroads Shopping Center, the man and vehicle had already left, but were then located a short distance away.

The driver, identified as 50-year-old Keith R. Dantonio of Groveland, exhibited signs of being under the influence of drugs, prompting a search of the car.

Officers located several syringes, a meth pipe, methamphetamine, and a scale, for which Dantonio was arrested and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail.
