Man arrested for hit-and-run and DUI after hitting parked cars

CORNING — A local man has been arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run and DUI after striking several parked cars on August 30th.

Police received numerous calls just after midnight that a vehicle had struck several parked cars on Houghton Avenue, after which the suspect vehicle, which had lost a front tire, fled the area.

Officers found the car in the middle of HerbertAvenue, as well as its driver, 21-year-old Daniel Marin.

Upon searching the vehicle, they also discovered a concealed gun and ammunition.

Marin was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run and DUI, as well as an added charge of possessing a stolen firearm.
