The music director at Yorba Linda Middle School was recently arrested in his home on suspicion of having molested a teenage girl over the course of 2 years.

The suspect, 44-year-old Daniel Methe, had been an employee of the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District since the year 1999. “Methe is suspected of committing multiple lewd acts on a teenage girl when she was between the ages of 13-15 beginning in 2011,” according to the release.

Members of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Detail brought Methe into custody at his home in Yorba Linda at about 9:45 on Thursday, July 25, 2019. He is being held on a bail of $100,000 at the Orange County Jail.

Investigators believe there may be more victims “due to Methe having continued access and contact with children over the past 20 years.”

Police are requesting that anyone with information regarding this case or possible other victims contact the Orange County Sheriff’s Department at (714) 647-7419. Those who wish to remain anonymous may submit an anonymous tip to OC Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS (855-847-6227) or at occrimestoppers.org.
