AUBURN – During the night of May 6th someone called the Auburn Police Department to report two young men snooping through parked cars on Brooke Road.

Two officers arrived to investigate and detained two males – 18-year-old Truckee resident Brandon Rangel-Munguia and an unidentified 17-year-old. The pair possessed stolen property and a loaded handgun. The serial number was removed from the gun.

The duo were now face charges for possession of a stolen handgun, possession of a gun with an altered serial number, stolen property, malicious activity to a vehicle and prowling.

Munguia was booked into custody at the Placer County Jail and his bail was set at $10,000.  The juvenile was taken Juvenile Hall and booked into custody there.
