25 citations, 1 arrest, in 4-hour checkpoint stop

HOLLISTER – A DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint, conducted by the Hollister Police Department on the Cino De Mayo weekend, resulted in one arrest and twenty-five citations.

The checkpoint occurred on Sunday May 5th at Fourth Street and Filice Drive, starting at 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm.  Over 600 vehicles were screened during the operation.  One of three drivers who underwent a field sobriety test failed it and was arrested for Driving Under the Influence. An additional DUI arrest occurred on patrol.

66-year-old Manuel Lopez-Perez and 23-year-old Salud Martinez-Medina were charged with DUI.

The other citations were for driving without a license or driving on a suspended license.
