ARVIN – Nearly a year ago, on June 18th of 2018, two men were murdered and left in an orchard outside the city of Arvin. Kern County Sheriff Homicide Detectives began an investigation and identified the victims as Samuel Atkinson and Vincent Valdez.

Nearly a year later, after a arduous investigation, detectives were able to identify the two suspects who were responsible for the crime. The first suspect is 45-year-old Louie Perez, who is currently in custody in Kern county for three other murders. .

The second suspect has been identified as 29-year-old Edward Diaz, who was was finally arrested on May 2nd at 6:00 PM on the 2000 block of Belle Terrace.
