Officer discovers pair in possession of heroin

EUREKA – On Monday April 22nd at approximately 11:00 AM a Eureka Police Department officer  with the Community Safety Enhancement Team (CSET) “conducted a routine patrol check in an alley of 4th Street.”

During this routine patrol check the officer made contact with two men who were found to be in possession of heroin and paraphernalia.  One of the two was “highly intoxicated.”

37-year-old Joshua Allen Repp and 61-year-old John Paul Gilbert were arrested and taken to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where they were booked into custody.

Officers discovered an additional 48 grams of heroin concealed on Repp’s person during the booking process.

Repp faces charges for sales and distribution of heroin, knowingly bringing an illicit substance into a correctional facility and drug paraphernalia, as well as probation violations.

For his part, Gilbert faces charges for public intoxication, possession of heroin and paraphernalia.
