Santa Barbara County – According to Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Kelly Hoover, 54-year-old Lompoc resident Arvan Washington III was arrested by SBSD patrol deputies on the evening of February 22nd.

Washington, who was the subject of an active felony arrest warrant, was discovered hanging around “the rear of the Albertson’s shopping center” in downtown Lompoc just after 9:00 p.m. when SBSD deputies made contact with him. As he was taken into custody on the outstanding warrants, deputies quickly discovered that Washington was in possession of “illegal narcotics.”

A further search of Washington’s person revealed him to “be in possession of numerous suspected fraudulent checks, credit/debit cards, counterfeiting equipment and personal information” that included social security cards and tax documents upon which he was not named.

Washington promptly taken into custody and was transported to Santa Barbara County Jail, where his original arrest warrant issues were compounded by additional multiple narcotics and identity theft charges. The totality of his charges and his prior warrant have qualified him to remain in custody and to be held without bail.
