The fight to keep drugs from coming into detention facilities nets another arrest. 54-year old Tammy Gomes was apprehended on February 15th.

She is charged with smuggling drugs to 38-year old Raymond Durham, a current inmate of a Tulare County Detention Facility.

A two-week long investigation culminated with a search of a Visalia home on the 2000 block of North Ben Maddox. At that location, detectives of the Tulare Area Gang and Narcotic Enforcement Team and TAGNET Majors found items related to drug sales, drug paraphernalia, and methamphetamine.

In addition to being charged with importing drugs into a county jail, Gomes faces charges of conspiracy, possession, and maintaining a residence for the purpose of narcotics use.

Durham, who was in jail for unrelated charges, has added importing narcotics into a county hail and conspiracy to commit a crime to his record.
