Prowling Thief, Hiding on Porch, is Turned in by Alert Resident
FOLSOM – An alert resident assisted the Folsom Police Department in arresting one of two prowling thieves. Early on the morning of New Year’s Eve, someone called in a suspicious vehicle in their neighborhood.
The caller “believed the men were casing his neighbor’s house.” Responding officers detained the man and woman in the stolen, which turned out to be stolen.
Another suspect was reported to be walking in the neighborhood. This is when a second concerned citizen phoned in to say that their home security system spotted the suspect crouched down on their porch.
That was 37-year-old Carmichael resident Shane Stephen Allen. Both Allen and 28-year-old Sacramento resident Jaswinder Mitchell Singh were arrested and charged with vehicle theft. Allen was also charged with prowling, theft and possessing the identifying information of another person.
The female earlier detained was not arrested.
