LOST HILLS – On the morning of December 4th deputies responded to a location behind businesses northwest of Highway 46 and Interstate 5. There, they discovered a victim suffering from stab wounds.

Just a few minutes later a call came in about a robbery on Highway 46. The robber reportedly had a knife, but was gone by the time deputies arrived.

The ensuing investigation produced the fact that the suspect in both of these incidents was the same person – 46-year-old Jaime Valdez.  He was announced as armed and dangerous.

Three days later a tip came in from the “Secret Witness Hotline” that Valdez was walking on Highway 46. Soon, a deputy spotted him, but the suspect ran away, into thick brush.

Once they established a perimeter, deputies enlisted SWAT and KM-9 units, and Valdez was then successfully located and arrested.

No further word has been provided about the condition of the stabbing victim.
