Oxnard – A rash of burglaries throughout Oxnard and Ventura, perpetrated by individual pairs of thieves, came to a halt with the November 9th arrests of all four suspects.

According to City of Ventura Police Department Public Information Officer Tom Higgins, spokesman, surveillance footage provided by victims of an October 28th burglary on Windshore Way in Ventura indicated that “the intruders entered the home through an open window.”

With clear images of the suspects, detectives were able to identify 37-year-old Ventura resident Garett James Clark and 26-year-old Ventura resident Sunni Dae Chapman as the culprits.

A search warrant targeting Clark’s residence was promptly obtained and served, leading detectives to the discovery of “most of the stolen property” from the Windshore Way crime.

Both Clark and Chapman were on the premises at the time of the search. Both were taken into custody and transported to Ventura County Jail, where they were charged with first degree burglary. Clark’s bail was set at $100,000 while Chapman’s bail was set at $50,000.

During the same period, Oxnard Police Department detectives responded to the report of a Sanford Street residential burglary in which a pair of individuals “forced their way into the home,” unaware that the resident was “hiding in the bathroom.”

As the culprits made off with the homeowner’s property, the victim made contact with police and “recorded video of the intruders as they left.”

That video lead to the identification of Oxnard residents Gilberto Hernandez, 20, and Jose Morales, 20, both of whom were contacted by police and taken into custody. Hernandez and Morales were then transported to Ventura County Jail, where they were charged with first-degree residential burglary. Hernandez’s bail is set at $170,000, while Morales’ bail is set at $100,000.
