CRESCENT CITY – Once again the infamous “traffic stop” led to an arrest of two people.
Just after midnight on August 3 a CCPD officer pulled over a vehicle for said traffic stop. The stop occurred near 9th and H Street. Passenger Yvette Nelson had an arrest warrant out on her and was therefore arrested.
53-year-old Roy Neal Jr. also faced criminal charges –
- possession and transportation of controlled substance for sale;
- felon in possession of a firearm;
- other firearm and drug charges.
K-9 Kai assisted in alerting fellow officers to the presence of drugs in the car.
Neal’s vehicle contained quite the treasure trove of unlawful material. For instance, it held 4.9 grams of meth and 2.4 grams of heroin. Also, packaging material, a scale and $300 hid inside.
Finally, officers found two loaded semi-automatic rifles and high-capacity magazines.
